This book is a must-read for those interested in a look at where 100 years of Zionism leads. Max is young, smart and unsparingly honest.
Watch “Five Broken Cameras”
This compelling film is set in Bil’in (occupied Palestinian territories), where villagers have held weekly non-violent demonstrations against the occupation for over 10 years now. It was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Documentary in 2013, together with the excellent Israeli film, “The Gatekeepers”.

This book has wonderful recipes and mouth-watering photos, but I find its cultural appropriation irritating. It stretches credulity to suggest that an ancient city like Jerusalem, with an overwhelmingly Palestinian population for millennia, now has a cuisine credited so disproportionately to Jewish-Israelis who’ve moved there in the last century.
